Relevance to Storyline: Nathan Petrelli's wife and mother to his two boys. Daughter of Adam Monroe, but nobody talks about that, and Heidi doesn't remember him.
Character Ability: Standing strong for her husband, even when she's wheelchair bound. No expressed evolutionary trait.
Character History: Heidi Petrelli is a story-book princess. At the age of six she lost her father under mysterious circumstances. Her mother was a beautiful, but humble woman who might have been left destitute had it not been for the help of weird old "Uncle" Linderman. Though Heidi rarely saw her strange benefactor, he made certain she was financially well-looked after and groomed in elegance and social grace. She developed an iron will and caring strength on her own however, in the wake of her mother's loss.
The Petrellis being associates of Mr. Linderman, she was introduced to Nathan at her Sweet Sixteen dinner, one of the few times she saw her self-appointed godparent Linderman. It would be several years before she and Nathan would become college sweethearts, but Heidi had developed a powerful crush almost immediately. He was Prince Charming, in the flesh, and while most young girls eventually gave up the dream and learned to settle, when Heidi's valiant knight returned with glory and honor from his battles in distant lands, he came and pulled her from her tower (Fleur Tower on the north end of campus), and asked her for her hand in marriage..
And they lived Happily Ever After... for about ten years.
Then reality came crashing in, literally, in the form of an SUV and a freeway off-ramp. She felt no personal betrayal knowing the event had likely been orchestrated by Mr. Linderman. He hadn't even attended the wedding, just sent a card she suspected was picked by a secretary, but she now had control of her own trust fund and the support of her wonderful new family. She needed nothing more from him, and certainly not after this.
Heidi has always been a strong woman though, and resolved from the onset that this accident would only be a brief interlude in the love-filled postscript of her romantic story. But the trouble with Prince Charming is the princess isn't the only one susceptible to his charms. Lately she has felt a distance between herself and her regal husband. A distance recently taken advantage of by some mysterious blonde witch. Oh yes, Heidi knows that Nathan and Peter are both lying. She knows her husband better than he's giving her credit for and Peter's as opaque as a windowpane. But she's never been any less in love with Nathan than the day they stopped just dating and became a couple, so she lets him lie to her and keeps her faith in him anyway. True Love is just like that. So is politics.
